Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust (BMKT) celebrated the birth anniversary of Karmaveerar K. Kamaraj as Education Day on the 15th of July 2026, paying tribute to the visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to education transformed the lives of millions of children across Tamil Nadu.
The celebration brought together students, teachers, staff members, well-wishers and supporters of the institution to honour Kamarajar’s enduring legacy and reaffirm the Trust’s commitment to inclusive and quality education for every child.
The programme commenced with a vibrant Villupattu performance titled “Karmaveerar Kamarajar”, presented by the students of Bala Mandir Vidyalaya Primary School. Through music and storytelling, the students beautifully narrated the life and contributions of the legendary leader who championed universal education and the midday meal scheme, making education accessible to countless children.
This was followed by a special presentation, “Kalvi Valluvan Kamarajar,” by the students of Bala Mandir Satyamurthi High School, highlighting the values, vision and educational reforms introduced by Kamarajar and their continued relevance in today’s society.
A special segment of the programme was dedicated to recognising the invaluable contributions of the helpers and support staff of Bala Mandir. The Trust honoured these unsung heroes for their years of dedicated service, commitment and care in nurturing generations of children and supporting the institution’s mission.
The event’s Chief Guest, Ms. Vaishnavi Srinivasan, Executive Director, BHUMI, addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of staying together, caring for one another and drawing strength from the community. She encouraged students to embrace challenges and hardships as essential steps towards growth and transformation. She urged the children to believe in themselves, persevere through difficulties and support one another as they pursue their dreams.
