BMRRC showcased an event on 29 th June 2024 with a display of posters and pamphlets and activities on Early Childhood Care, Development and Education, parenting and brain development. There were 6 different displays and activities viz. Street Play, Brain Game, IMOW, Divya Prabhandam Workshop, Resource Materials and Model Creche that is explained below:
- A team of 11 women from Gummudipoondi performed the Street Play and the dance for one of the songs of our Member Mrs. Lakshmi Gopal to explain the importance of Brain development and ECCD.
- The brain game developed in 2010 is an activity done as part of the LTP/ECCD training session on the criticality of the Brain development and stimulation or lack of it. This game was played and explained by Ms Bhuvana along with some of our staff and senior girls.
- The IMOW (7 domains) – which come as a follow up of LTP (5 domains) was evolved by one of our members Mrs. Usha Ramakrishnan – to explain about “Parenting” for children with differently existing profiles. This was explained to the visitors by our HGS and Ms Sumana.
- The “Divya Prabandham” presentation by Ms. Lakshmi Gopal explained that the age old knowledge and practices in child development were part of our Indian tradition and can today match up with age appropriate scientific fact and developmental theories.
- The “Home environment” was an attempt at show casing, the safety angles as well as household items that the child can play with and “learn”. The “child development” 0-3yrs enacted by Ms. Kranthi is added activity done while training children.
- The entire resource materials of BMRRC were on display giving people an insight into the amount of work that has gone into the development and dissemination of these resources.
