Bala Mandir Schools- Bala Mandir Vidyalaya Primary School and Satyamurthi School celebrated Kamarajar’s birthday as Education Day on the 15th July 2024 with great enthusiasm and zeal.
The programme included a Villupattu on the life of Kamarajar, which showcased his contributions to education and social reform. The students were trained by Villupattu exponent, Ms. Bharathi Thirumagan and her son Mr. Kalaimagan, who had added to the existing script and music for a new look presentation.
The Tamil skit “Kamarajar Kalvi Kanavu” presented by the students, highlighted his vision for education and Bala Mandir, while the English skit “Impact of Kamarajar on Education” was depicted by students as a group of children coming from a magical place, landing in Bala Mandir, and being astonished by the 75-year legacy and contribution of Shri. Kamarajar to education.
The helpers in BM were honoured with handmade photo frames, a heartfelt gesture to recognize their dedication and hard work.
Mr. Ramesh Mangaleswaran, Trustee, Bala Mandir Kamaraj Trust, and Senior Partner Emeritus, McKinsey and Company, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering, sharing Shri. Kamarajar’s unique ideals for success, which emphasized the importance of hard work, perseverance, and selflessness. He explained these ideals in a way that was easy for children to understand, making the speech both informative and engaging.
The programme concluded with a thank you note by Ms. Mala Sankar, Headmistress-BM Vidyalaya. The yearly tradition being followed, a special lunch was provided to all attendees, students, and staff of Bala Mandir.
