A staff get-together programme was held in the BM Cultural Centre Hall, post the Founder’s day celebrations. A total of 180 staff attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed the events planned for them. The staff were divided into teams as per their units and were seated – a total of 5 teams. Three events were planned this time for the Teams.
The first was a Team quiz, where 20 questions were printed on a sheet of paper – of which 12 were regular questions and 8 were visual based questions. The team had to write the answers within a stipulated time of 10 minutes.
In the second event, the team had the task of enacting a personality connected to their unit – one person had to enact, and the team members could help them with the creating of surroundings. The time given for preparation was 5 minutes and the enacting time was 3 minutes.
The third task for the team was ‘If our Founder Manjumma would have been around today, how would you convince her that your team is fully striving towards our motto ‘Every Child Matters’. The preparation time was 15 minutes, and the presentation was for 5 minutes.
Three judges – Ms Latha Kumarasami, Ms Lakshmi Gopal and Mr Ravichandran – had a tough time judging the performances because each of the team was set on bettering the other by their performance and innovation. The teams were judged based on upkeep of time, usage of props, team participation and most of all, expression of the topic to the understanding of audience. The judges gave their opinion on the overall presentation post the event.
All the teams performed to their fullest potential, and the order of the teams’ performance is as follows:
