The Annual Day of Bala Mandir schools was held on August 23rd, Saturday, at the Bengal Associational Hall in T-Nagar. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Praveena, Chief of Staff & CSR Leader, Boeing South Asia, as the chief guest. The hall was filled with enthusiastic students, parents, members, and partners awaiting the program.
This year’s theme for the Annual Day was “Technology: A Boon or a Bane.” The program explored the dual impact of technology on lives, highlighting how technology has enhanced learning, efficiency, and connectivity, while also addressing challenges such as digital distractions and tech addiction.
The proceedings commenced with the Thamizhthai Vazhthu and a welcome note delivered by Ms. Janani, followed by the presentation of the Annual Report by Ms. Mala. The cultural segment of the event began with a welcome dance performed by students of SMHS. An English skit depicted the impact of technology on daily life at home and in the outside world, concluding with the message “Technology is a good servant but a bad master,” emphasizing the need for judicious use of technology.
Students of Vidyalaya presented two dance performances: one showcasing games of previous generation and the other based on a song by Bharathidasan about creating a new world. Students of KaRe performed a dance drama featuring animals in the forest, highlighting the importance of good deeds.
Prizes were distributed to students who excelled in academics, English proficiency, conduct, and character. Additionally, one teacher from each school was honoured with the Best Teacher award. The chief guest was presented with a Bala Mandir Key by Secretary Mr. Natrajan. Ms. Praveena appreciated the efforts of the teachers and emphasized the value “Every child matters” in her speech.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem and the Bala Mandir anthem.
